About the product

The FAP-450 is a 50 µm partially fluorinated, unreinforced anion exchange membrane from Fumatech, designed for electrochemical applications requiring high oxidative stability — particularly Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB) operating under aqueous acidic conditions.

It offers a low area resistance of <0.7 Ω·cm² (in 0.5 M H₂SO₄), high ion selectivity (>92%), low vanadium uptake (<10 wt%), and low dimensional swelling (<10%) — key properties for maintaining efficiency and durability over extended cycling. Its mechanical stability is excellent, with a tensile strength >70 MPa and elongation at break >250%.

The membrane is delivered dry on a PET backing foil and requires no pretreatment before use. Operating range is pH < 4 and room temperature up to 50°C.

Main application area: Vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFB)
