Fumatech F-10150-PTFE PTFE-reinforced fluorinated cation exchange membrane for water electrolysis and flow batteries, offering high mechanical robustness, chemical stability, and selectivity in a 150 µm format.
The F-10150-PTFE is a 150 µm PTFE-reinforced fluorinated cation exchange membrane from Fumatech, designed for demanding electrochemical applications including water electrolysis and redox flow batteries where high mechanical durability and oxidative stability are essential.
The PTFE reinforcement delivers superior mechanical integrity — Young’s modulus >300 MPa, tensile strength >30 MPa, and burst test >3 bar — while keeping dimensional swelling in water below 6%. Ion selectivity is >95% and area resistance <1 Ω·cm² (measured after activation), making it a reliable choice for high-performance electrolysis cells.
The membrane is supplied in H⁺ form, dry and non-activated, on a PET backing foil. For most applications, activation can be carried out in-situ without any acid pretreatment prior to assembly. For immediate high performance, optional pre-activation in 10 wt% H₂SO₄ at 70–90°C for at least 6 hours is recommended, followed by thorough washing with demineralised water.
