About the product

The F-10100 is a 100 µm non-reinforced cation exchange membrane from Fumatech, built for electrochemical processes that require high oxidative stability, such as redox flow batteries and PEM water electrolysis. It combines low area resistance with high mechanical stability and high selectivity, making it a reliable choice wherever long-term chemical and oxidative durability is critical.

  • Dimensional swelling below 18% in water
  • Young’s modulus above 350 MPa, tensile strength above 15 MPa, elongation at break above 200%

  • Delivered dry and non-activated, in H⁺ form, on a colorless rigid PET backing foil

Delivery & pretreatment: Supplied as a transparent, slightly brown foil on a PET backing layer, in dry, non-activated H⁺ form. For redox flow battery applications in acidic environments, the membrane can be activated in-situ in the cell without any pretreatment. For immediate high performance and lowest resistance, it can optionally be pretreated in 10 wt% H₂SO₄ at 70–90 °C for at least 6 hours, followed by thorough rinsing in demineralized water.

 

Main application area: Redox flow batteries, PEM water electrolysis, and other electrochemical processes requiring oxidatively stable cation exchange membranes.
