Gravity-driven gas separation. Internal baffles make e.g., entrained H₂ and O₂ bubbles coalesce and vent before the electrolyte returns to the cell, so no pumps, membranes or power are needed.
No moving parts, no maintenance. The baffle stack hangs from the lid on PTFE standoffs, so the unit is simple to assemble, inspect and clean.
Chemically robust. All wetted parts are PEEK and PTFE, compatible with KOH, H₂SO₄ and chloride-based electrolytes such as seawater.
Plug-and-play integration. The parts can be installed in any of our reservoirs and comes in in 250, 500 and 1000 mL volumes variants.
The Gas Separation Unit removes e.g., entrained hydrogen and oxygen from the recirculating electrolyte before it returns to the electrochemical cell. Gas bubbles reduce active electrode area, add ohmic resistance, and cause unstable cell readings, so removing them improves the quality and repeatability of your measurements. The unit works entirely by gravity. Electrolyte enters at the top of the reservoir and flows over a series of internal baffles, where small bubbles coalesce into larger ones and rise to a vent port that can be routed to your exhaust or ventilation system. Degassed electrolyte collects at the bottom of the reservoir and is drawn back into the flow loop. Because the unit has no moving parts, there is nothing to wear out and no routine maintenance. All wetted parts are made of PEEK and PTFE, so the unit is compatible with common electrolytes including KOH, H₂SO₄, and chloride-based solutions such as seawater. The unit is available in 250 mL, 500 mL and 1000 mL reservoir volumes, with 1/8″ or 1/4″ NPT ports for low- or high-flow setups. The unit is designed to run with its vent open to atmosphere and can tolerate brief overpressure transients of up to 1 barg, such as pump surges.
